Where's Kat?

Outside! That's where. Busy, busy girl. Even Mr. T loves the outdoors and 75 degrees, sunny with a sweet wind blowing, who can resist that?

The tulips are coming up, the bushes are all flowering. It's just gorgeous to be out and enjoying the great weather. We still need to get fish for the pond, the usual much and flowers to plant, but there's still time for that.

I went to work the other night, did 2 C-section's in one shift, which is very rare, came home, Kat was still up. She says, " you look like a nurse, mommy" as she rubs my clothes. "Ha ha! goober, I said, I am a nurse." Silly girl. Guess she forgot since I cut back my work so much. I sure felt like one, feet and back were killing me.

We got all our junk hauled out and taken away this week, yes, the annual Spring Clean Up where we dump everything we don't want out and people come to root through it and make a huge mess then the township comes and hauls it away after 4 days of fighting over the junk, with flashlights at midnight, weird, weird people. I got rid of boxes, many boxes that Baba seems to think must be saved from every electronic item he has ever purchased forever. GONE now :)
Pictures of Kat, playing in her room looking wayyyyy too cute and having a blast on that rocking horse, she sure loves that horsey (thanks again Suzy!)

Why, but why mommy?

Yes it's true, Miss Kat has learned the why word. This word is applied to everything. "Let's get you dressed Kat. Why? Do you want to wear blue? Why? "Cause you look pretty in it. Why? Why? Why?" AHHHHH! I find myself saying the dreaded "because I said so" more than once!

H had a hearing today as she turns 18 next month and she requested to stay in care. Wow, not too many kids go that route, but she has a year left of school to go.
Saturday was a gorgeous day, sunny and warm so off we went outside with Mr. T and sat him on the swing on his pillow. Kat picked him a daffodil and he was alert and looking around. It was so neat to let him feel the sun on his face and every time the wind blew he gasp just a little like he was saying " what's that?" We felt like everyone should have a chance to feel the sun and have a breeze blow through your hair in their lifetime, he obviously enjoyed it. We hope to have many more days to share the outdoors with him. He is growing, up over 12 pounds now.

Kat will be sporting barrettes for a while now since tonight she came to me with poster putty stuck in tuff of her hair, almost in her bangs, but not quite. It had to be cut out so we will be hiding that missing chunk of hair however we must with hairstyles. She tried to tell me Daddy did it, this is her new trick - LIE and see if I call her on it. All I have to do is say " Kat are you lying to me?" and she caves. What a turd !
Notice anything different about Camden? Yep, he's lost his front tooth. FINALLY is all he could say. He was so happy to lose another tooth, just #2 to go at age 7 1/2! He talks funny and it's so odd to see that big gaping hole. He was running into the house tonight, slipped and grabbed onto Kat's shoe basket and tumbled a bunch of things down onto himself giving him a nasty brush burn on his shoulder. All I heard was "CRASH" and crying, scared a few more white hairs right onto my head.
I got Donovan to help me load this clip of the kids playing, they don't always get along but they were having such fun I had to share them in action:) Enjoy!

Momma killed the photo printer

I killed the printer. Can you imagine? I only have about 30,000 pictures saved. Baba keeps complaining that my photo program slows down the computer, I do not care. I must have my pictures. I am sure Miss Kat is not at all upset, she is tired of me and my picture taking most days.
I have made and sent Po-Po 5 books since bringing Kat home, almost 18 months ago now and am working on my 4th regular sized scrapbook for her. I am amazed I did not find scrap booking before reading about making a life book for an adopted child for their well being and allowing them to process their life story. Now I am sooo hooked. I made one for the baby, I have room for more pages since I filled it up already! I just love being able to pick up a book and go from the beginning to the end of it and see them grow before your eyes.
Miss Kat got a baby doll today, she wanted it at Christmas time but it was too expensive, yes, $50 for a doll is beyond me, but today it was marked down to $20. Momma clearance shopper, scooped it right up. Now I think it's a Chuckie doll as it required batteries and talks, it says " Ohh, momma, I sleepy, want blankey, want bear, want food, want hug, want, want, want. Kat tried to pawn it off on me after she got tired of the "I wants" after awhile and I said "no thanks, got the real live I WANT doll right in front of me!" Add Mr. Grumper Bumper which is Mr. T's new name for his grumpy days and I don't need a fake thing wanting stuff from me. Sad thing is anytime you touch the blasted thing it "comes to life" I think I saw Kat whip her butt and throw her at one point. Gosh, hope she doesn't plan to have children at a young age! I asked her if we treated her that way and she just said " I not want her, I not love her." Okay then, glad I didn't buy her for the original $50 price tag. She did pick her up and play with her then later, guess she was back in her mommy mode.

Kat told me the most interesting thing yesterday, she was looking at her photo album we took to China for her, it was an exact copy of the one we sent her before we went to get her. She asked me first " who take that picture" as it was one without HER and just the 3 kids at home in June 2006. I told her "Derrik, her biggest Gie Gie and she was still in China." "Oh", she said. Then she turned the page and it was a picture of her from her foster family days. I said " who take that picture." Not really expecting her to know, but she comes of with "Ci Ci" and when I got out our book of the girls from her orphanage that one of the mom's made for us and the SWI, I showed her a picture of some of the staff and she picked out this "Ci Ci" person, no problem.

I find this amazing that after 17 months home and she will tell me she can not remember the foster family's grandchild's name that she played with often. Or the foster big brother she had and saw every day, but she clearly recalls this woman coming from the SWI to take her picture and even told me her Po Po was beside the woman. WOW, is all I could say.

Mr. T was grumpy last night, even for his favorite nurse, about 1 1/2 hours of crying straight, uhhh. So hard to cope with that. I almost got up and went down but he is so good for her I knew I would not be any more able to soothe him as she and I had to sleep. I have him tonight to myself. So I am off to feed him and hope he settles in and finds a comfortable way to sleep. He seems so uncomfortable at times and actually doesn't wish to be held, I think it must pain him and we try so hard to make him as comfy as possible. Another day we have been blessed by him. No smiles today though, he doesn't seem to feel well. Keep him in your prayers, they help sooo much, no doubts about that!

Let me count the smiles

Our baby boy has been so gracious to reward me with daily smiles, he is so sweet he is even crinkling up his nose and smiling at me now. Talk about precious! My concern has been him feeling pain but after talking with the doctor who consulted with a neurologist who states any crying he does would be due to the disrupted neurological issues, not due to pain and the concensus that stronger pain medicine (other than tylenol) would depress his breathing, we are just praying for him and comforting him as much as possible. He cries sometimes and can't be soothed, although usually momma can calm him best. So we just keep on, enjoying him and loving him each day, each hour that we are blessed with him.

I took him and had pictures done of him and I, I so dearly wish I could post them, but this is not allowed. They did such a nice job, we got pictures together and they even caught him smiling in one. I will post the ones of his adorable feet and hands. I got a collage of those with his picture smiling and him looking up at a teddy bear over his shoulder. Too sweet.

Otherwise we have been busy keeping up with the babe, I am behind posting but for all that follow us do not assume the worst. We are just making each minute count. If anything happens with the baby I promise to post asap. We will need many prayers when that day comes.
Last week our super cleaning friend Kath, attacked the bathroom (we only have 1 so imagine anyone volunteering for that job?) and she was able to do cleaning and watch the baby, while Miss Kat and I went off for some girl time. We went shopping, of course, she got a Dora hat, Dora crocs, and a puzzle. She LOVES Dora, but she was trying to tell me Dora is Chinese. I said "no, Dora is Spanish" and what does dear Kat say? "Panish, huh, nuuuh huhh mom!" Like I was goofy. She wants everyone to be Chinese:) Glad she enjoys being Chinese and knowing we LIKE her China looks.

I got a shirt I just had to have, you girls know how that is, but really, this one says "This MOM ROCKS". The "rocks" is in pink glitter dots too. Just had to have it. Next, Kat and I went to pick up the dog, he got his gross teeth cleaned and one pulled. For being less than 4 years old, his teeth are a mess. He refuses to chew on anything, you would think he is some royal dog, he looks at all the treats, bones, anything we buy him, sniffs it and walks away. Like he is saying "ahh, I don't THINK so" and he only gets dry doggy food. So I guess we are stuck with yucky teeth.

My car is back too, we got the boo- boo fixed and looking new, too bad we are looking to sell it now that my "dream car days" have been surpassed by the reality that it does not hold enough kiddos for us. We still need a van. We would have been getting another van had I not bought the car, and I miss the room of a van. I'm missing it enough to not feel bad about the car, overall the kids are wayyy more important than a vehicle. Guess I had a say that before when Derrik WREAKED my car. Not that I will ever forget that. Ha Ha!

Miss Kitty enjoyed going to see Horton Hears the Who with H and another foster girl that comes to stay with us on occassional weekends to have some teen girls to pal around with. C is part asian and Kat just LOVES her, she follows her everywhere. They had a good time at the movies and gave rave reviews for it.
We have daffodils up in the yard, crocuses are almost done, the pond plants are coming up, the tulips are coming in, yeah, we think we can say SPRING IS HERE!
